The House on the Hill
by Drew Hunt
Robbie has always been uncomfortable with the elevated position the Foster family has enjoyed in Greenville. He is forced to balance his socialist beliefs of equality and egalitarianism when he becomes head of the family on his father's death.
Carl, a joiner/carpenter, was born of honest working class stock. He's a single parent to his twelve year old son. For the most part he's content with his dull but predictable life.
Josh was born to a white mother and West Indian father. There are few coloured kids in his community. He's often teased by the other kids because of his differences. Despite being physically strong, Josh is quiet and always tries to blend into the background.
Ben is devoted to his father whom he adores. Despite the physical limitations forced on him by his arthritic condition, he copes well and manages to keep a positive outlook on life.
