Before settling down in South Florida where he pursued active careers in Social Services working at mental hospitals, rehab centers for the mentally ill and drug and alcohol abusers, crisis centers, Drug Court, nursing homes, hospice and AIDS centers as therapist, director of admissions and social services, d. & a. counselor, case manager, grief counselor, and social worker, Ritch had a very successful career from Broadway to LA in drama and music as actor, director, conductor, composer, pianist, and producer.
He has three college degrees. BA's in drama and music and a BS in Psychology, not to mention that he also graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. In his youth, he worked with the likes of Irving Berlin, Richard Rodgers, and Stephen Sondheim, as well as many famous Broadway stars including Ethel Merman and Mary Martin at the top of his list.
In 2002, he discovered Nifty Erotic Stories and tried his hand at writing his very first story. Since that time he has written some nineteen Nifty stories, among them, "Whence Cometh My Help" later revised as "Briarwood" which garnered him over 30,000 emails from five continents.
He still considers himself as a rank amateur writer, but he feels as if he improves with each new story. He also worked as a political activist with civil rights, women's right to choose, and gay rights, working as a youth campaign manager of Hubert Humphrey's unsuccessful run for the Presidency.
He was active in 102 various careers before retiring in Plantation, Florida with his longtime companion and his two yellow Labrador Retrievers, both adopted from animal shelters.
